Dana Oxendale, MA, LMFT

Growing up, my dad’s favorite poem was a mainstay in our home.

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.” - Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken. From The Poetry of Robert Frost.

Therapy is about growth through change and it requires courage. If you’re here, you have already taken that first step toward change. I want to remind you of your immeasurable worth and that you have what it takes to do hard things. I am honored to hold your story with respect and care. Together, let’s walk along a new path as you encounter fresh perspectives, insight, growth and change; as you explore new and healthier ways of engaging with loved ones and create a brighter way of seeing yourself and the world.

Experience:  Since 2012 I have gained insights from a range of experiences including a partial hospitalization program, a short-term crisis shelter, and managing teams in large mental health clinic systems. Landing today in a group private practice affords me the creativity to match my unique skill set and training to meet the needs of clients. I take my time to offer approaches that are tailored to each client’s need.

Therapeutic style: I am creative, curious, non-judgmental, humorous, and compassionate. I am not a passive “head-nodder”. My approach will be tailored to your needs. I will listen quietly and intently when needed and I will also add challenging thoughts and questions to help move you forward.
